WEILER Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH - Precision and tradition for over 85 years
WEILER Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, based in Emskirchen-Mausdorf, Bavaria, is a leading manufacturer of precision lathes. Since its foundation in 1938, the company has built up an excellent reputation in the metalworking industry. With over 165,000 machines sold worldwide, WEILER is the market leader in German-speaking countries for conventional and cycle-controlled lathes.
History and development
WEILER was founded in Herzogenaurach in 1938 by the Weiler and Hubmann families. After the Second World War, the company resumed production in 1948 and expanded over the following decades. At the end of the 1980s, WEILER ran into economic difficulties and was sold to the Austrian company Voest-Alpine Steinel in 1990. In 1995, Dkfm. Friedrich K. Eisler took over the company as part of a management buy-out and returned it to family ownership.
Locations and corporate structure
The headquarters in Emskirchen comprises sales, administration, research and development as well as production and assembly halls on an area of 14,000 square meters. A further production site is located in Holoubkov near Pilsen, Czech Republic, where radial drilling machines in particular are manufactured. WEILER is also represented in the USA by WEILER North America Corporation.
The group of companies also includes KUNZMANN Maschinenbau GmbH, a manufacturer of milling machines, and WMS GmbH, a specialist in the retrofitting and general overhaul of machine tools.
Product portfolio
WEILER offers a wide range of turning machines:
- Conventional precision lathes
- Cycle-controlled lathes (C-series)
- CNC precision lathes
- Radial drilling machines
These machines are used in training, one-off and small batch production as well as in industries such as optics, medical technology, mechanical engineering, aviation and energy generation.
Innovation and sustainability
WEILER attaches great importance to research and development. One example of this is the digital learning platform EDUCATION4.0, which combines modern training concepts with gamification approaches.
In the area of sustainability, the company relies on measures such as the use of photovoltaic systems and feeding waste heat from a biogas plant into the heating network. In addition, CO₂ emissions have been reduced by around a third through various measures.
Company management
Today, WEILER is managed by the brothers Michael and Alexander Eisler, who act as managing partners. They continue the tradition of the family business and manage it with a focus on quality, innovation and sustainability.
